About Us

We, as members of St Erkenwald's church are a community who have responded to God's offer of salvation through faith in Jesus, and we are seeking to discover together His grace, peace and will for our lives, we therefore choose to:

Submit to Christ as our head and unite as His body.
Offer ourselves in worship.
Acknowledge the authority of the Bible as the Word of God and seek to apply it to our lives.
Look for the active working of the Holy Spirit in His people.
Try to live our lives as a witness to the reality of our faith.
Commit ourselves to the care and service of one another and those around us through the love of Christ.
Be compelled by the love of Christ so we can reach out to others with the Gospel and help them live by grace and trust in God and grow as disciples of Christ.
Encourage every member to grow towards maturity.
Aim to be good stewards of all that God has given us.
Have a hope in the future based on the teaching of the Bible, looking ultimately to the return of Christ.

The Mission of St Erkenwald's Church is to glorify God the Father by continuing the work of Christ in the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe this is to be achieved by:

Providing regular opportunities to worship God which both glorifies God and edifies the worshippers.
Making God's word relevant to today's society and enabling its application by His people.
Providing a variety of opportunities for the members of the church to meet together for support, encouragement and growth.
Taking the message of salvation through Jesus to those outside the church.
Ministering God's love to those both inside and outside the church community, by the use of the resources He has provided.
